Elks #476 Blood Drive
Wednesday, July 23, 2008, Yuma Elks Lodge #476 held another Blood Drive at our Lodge. This drive was sponsored by United Blood Services. We had a good turnout, even had a few 1st Time Donors and Family Group Donors!
Thanks to all who participated, we look forward to seeing you back at our next one; tentatively scheduled for September 08, at the Lodge.

“Please make special note that 5 of the Donors that showed up were not connected with the Elks Organization at all and just came in off of the Internet.”
“It was a successful Blood Drive for the Elks and it certainly made an impression on the United Blood Services Organization as our Elks Blood Drive was the only Blood Drive in Yuma area for this part of the summer. Blood Drives are hard to find in Yuma during the Summer.”

USB Donor Recruitment Representative stated:
“Thanks again for the great drive on Wednesday! We ended up with 18 successful donors and 20 units of blood total. We made our procedure goal (which is the number of donors) but we were one unit of blood short of our goal. Keep in mind, that since we are able to separate out the plasma, platelets, and red blood cells from each unit of blood, this means your efforts will help up to 60 of our Arizona hospital patients!”
25 people signed in to donate, 7 of them were deferred for various reason.
